Mr. Jody Oliver

Mr. Oliver began his martial arts training with Pratt's Karate Club in November on 1996. Martial arts has always been something that he has wanted to do, but he was not sure what to expect at the beginning. It wasn't long before he realized that he could "make it happen."

"The experience that I have gotten is invaluable. I did not realize that starting martial arts training would be a life-changing event.

I received my black belt in February of 2000.....that was an amazing event! It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, but I would not trade anything for the feeling you get when you've earned your black belt! Master Pratt and Junior Master Jason Pratt took me to places I thought I couldn't go. Once I got there, they helped me take that next step.... and then the next, and then the next. They know how to motivate you so that you can keep going. They are very skillful at helping you help yourself. Since receiving my black belt, a new learning curve has been initiated. It's amazing what you learn after receiving your black belt. The number one thing I have learned about Pratt's Karate Club is that this is a family.....a family that will stick with you!

I am currently the new candidate conditioning coordinator, as well as an instructor at the PKC Elgin location. I enjoy teaching students what I know, as well as learning new things.  Life is an adventure. We all need to step out on faith and do something new each day. I would like to summarize by saying NEVER GIVE UP! You can accomplish anything you set your mind to!"
